Country French Courtyard Garden

The Lighthouse - Book ExchangeOnce upon a time we were given the opportunity to visit a very special place in Southern France.

It was like no other.

We were enjoying the canal systems of France as gusts of another couple and we came upon "The Lighthouse". Audrey and Roy host an open house for travelers and have a lending library for those who live and travel by barge or boat.

Here they created a cozy and comfortable place to reflect. Countless garden treasures were carefully placed along the walls and hung with interest. Collectibles such as old pitchers and old garden pots. Old tools, and worn shoes for planters.

The sun warmed the private plaster walls and brick floor for a long chat and a warm cup of tea.

It is not an easily forgotten visit.

Garden CornerAudrey and Roy themselves traveled by long boat on the canals and call her "Rosie".

They will also share with you their mission in life: "Expressions of love and peace bring harmony to every situation." "The measure you give will be the measure you get back." - Luke 6:38. Not only in gardening, but everyday life.

Perhaps one day we will be fortunate enough to return.
