Orene Horton
Her garden has been featured on ETV's "The Victory Garden", and in "Southern Living" magazine. Her articles have appeared in "Fine Gardening", "Southern Living", and "Columbia Metropolitan" magazines. Formerly an Ass't Garden Editor for "Southern Living", she continues to write gardening articles for the magazine, and also has a regular gardening column that appears in "The State" newspaper. Orene is a Master Gardener who has gardened in Columbia for the past 23 years. She designed and helps to maintain a 200-foot long perennial border at Hollywood Park in her neighborhood. Orene
Horton grew up on a dairy farm outside Great Falls, S.C., and graduated
from Winthrop. She is a garden writer and consultant who lectures widely
and teaches "The Art of Gardening" in the University of South
Carolina's Continuing Education Program.
